The 187th Fighter Wing (FW), Alabama Air National Guard, has a requirement for an Optimizing Human Weapon System Services (OHWS) program at the 187th Fighter Wing, Dannelly Field, Montgomery, AL. Filling positions for Tactical Strength and Conditioning Specialist, Athletic Trainer, and Massage Therapist. *These positions are contingent upon contract award.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field; preferred Master’s Degree
  • Certification by the National Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCS, T-SAC), or CSCCA.
  • Must possess at least 4 years post-undergraduate experience; preferred with Division 1 Collegiate, Elite, Professional, or Tactical Athletes.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising the physical conditioning, weight-training and nutritional education of athletes.
  • Prior experience instructing, demonstrating, and coaching proper techniques of mobility, flexibility, plyometrics, speed, agility, explosive and traditional lifting, pre-habilitation, core training and metabolic conditioning.
  • Demonstrated experience working and communicating with coaches in developing sport specific programs.
  • Must be current in new research on training, pre-habilitation, and training technology.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • American Heart Association or American Red Cross CPR/AED certified
  • Clean Background Check
  • Must be able to push/pull/lift 55lbs.
  • Be able to adapt to flexible work schedule and possible weekends.
  • Currently, or upon hire, possess Professional Liability Insurance: $1,000,000.00
  • Compensation dependent upon education and experience.
